My site is powering up now. In addition to the “Gluttony Expedition”, which I focus on restaurant reviews and foods, “Akiko in LA” will be your travel guide everything around Disneyland. It’ll be expanded to cover all the LA and OC areas in the future, but my primary focus is Disneyland – the Disneyland travel guide for Japanese tourists to travel like local.

“Gluttony Expedition“: I’m a hardcore foodie – I love to eat & cook good foods and share my experiences with you. I always search for good foods – it’s my lifetime journey. “Gluttony Expedition” explains what I love to do: I want to not only talk about my experiences with food, but I also want to transfer my knowledge and insights onto you. Part of my passion for food leads me to write restaurant reviews on Yelp, which now you can read them here as well. I hope all of my fellow gluttons will enjoy what I can offer.

Review Legend – Restaurant Review

My restaurant review goes all over – Japanese, Vietnamese, Indian, Mexican etc…….. I love to eat all kinds of cuisine. I’m Japanese after all – I’m adventurous and curious for any kind of foods. I love to try new and different things. I do appreciate authentic flavors made by the people of the cuisine. They know their food best.

Now you know I’m very versatile. My restaurant review rating system is pretty straightforward and consistent. I’m a tough food critique and have very high standards. I love foods and know good foods. I don’t give away stars easily unless the food tasted so great. I write both good and bad experience unlike other restaurant guides so that you can really count on me

5 stars — WOW! I love it!!!
4 stars — Great! I’m so happy.
3 stars — Good. I can come back.
2 stars — Meh….. I won’t come back.
1 stars — Don’t waste your $ and time, dude!

See. How simple is that?! I love to share my experience with you without your going there. Nobody pays me to eat at the restaurant yet. (My high hope in the near future :p ) Even if the restaurants start paying me to eat, I WILL NOT change my restaurant review rating system. I wanna be your countable food critic forever

TRAVEL GUIDE: I love Disneyland. I grew up with classic Disney movie books – my dad read us those books every single night. I love to travel and to help people. My curious and inquisitive nature will help Japanese tourists who want to travel like local. 

FOODIE: I’m not just an ordinary foodie though. I’ve actually worked in restaurants and hotels from the bottom all the way up – from dish washer to hotel management, from cafes to fine dining. Learning about foods, restaurants, and wine is a part of my daily job. I’m also certified sommelier who hates to be snobby unlike most of them.

PHOTOGRAPHER: Oh, my major was photography, which is a big part of my life. You can see my pictures a lot now on Instagram (akikoinla) if you got an iPhone. I’ll add my gallery soon.
